Severe rain sinks boat in Aventura
South Florida has been hit with an unusual downpour the second week of December. The severe rain did not stop for days and caused major flooding on city streets and parking lots. Click here to see a news coverage about the flooding.
It turns out the non stop-rain and rising water level was a major bummer for one local boater. Below are pictures taken behind my friend’s house in Aventura, when we returned an hour later the boat was completely submerged. This sucks!!!

Have you seen your beloved going under? Tell us your story.
This boat was re-surfaced by a quick response Tow & Salvage company in close quarters and in the dark, very impressive.
UPDATE:
The rain in Aventura Florida is long gone, we are now facing a severe temerture drop that is lasting forever. Our friend finally sent us an updated picture of the boat that went under in December.
Goes to show you if you fall you will get up and go boating again it … share the passion!

Apparently, the battery was dead because there is no shore power or solar charger on the boat.
Whenever I see a boat like this which has needlessly sunk with great expense, I’m reminded of simple boat monitoring devices like Yacht Watchman which would have alerted the owner with a high water alarm in plenty of time to prevent sinking (see http://www.Yachtwatchman.com)
Interesting Ron. Have you used this on your boat? Was it easy to install?
